Smart Beginnings : Why they matter

The young children of today are Virginia’s workforce of the future. If our communities are to prosper, our young children must grow to be educated, employable and productive citizens.

This program will educate Human Resource Professionals on why investing in early childhood development is a key component for building the competitive, productive workforce our companies need for the future.   Information related to helping working parents identify and access high quality childcare will also be shared.   Attendees will receive a free SBGR/Cox lunch tote.

Presenter : Kris Meyers, Smart Beginnings Program Manager

She has been working with Smart Beginnings since 2007, leading workshops for early childhood teachers, and then becoming the first Star Quality mentor in Roanoke for local childcare centers & preschools. In March 2010 she became the Smart Beginnings Program Manager.  She is also a mother, of two young children herself and knows firsthand the importance of providing children with quality early learning experiences both in and out of the home.
