    About the Speakers:

    Beth Sullivan
    Beth is your business liaison for the areas of Roanoke, Martinsville, Danville and South Boston.  Beth has been supporting businesses with recruitment and retention services for over 25 years and has been relied on to offer a diverse pool of qualified applicants.  Businesses have trusted her to examine and understand their unique culture and workforce demands, and have utilized her experience assisting them with tax incentives, candidate screening and linking them to a large network of local workforce resources.  She prides herself on “being there for as long as the person is employed”.  Beth serves on 5 area Business Support Teams whose mission is to provide a comprehensive and timely response to the needs of business in the local community. She began her career with DARS as a Vocational Counselor, where she quickly identified her passion for assisting businesses with developing a talent pipeline and diversifying their workforce.  This led to the management of Workforce Specialists, Assistive Technology Specialists, Vocational Evaluators and Career Counselors.  She has devoted the last 5 years as a Business Development Manager for the Roanoke Valley and West Piedmont areas of the state.  

    Matt Herron
    Matt Herron serves as the Business Development Manager for DARS Southwest. He serves the areas of Abingdon, Christiansburg, Norton, Pounding Mill and Wytheville.
    Matt has over 20 years of experience that includes teaching and coaching at the middle school public education level, corporate training to a company with over 1,000 employees, managing a team of ten Employment Consultants providing vocational rehabilitation services and currently providing workforce solutions for DARS candidates and businesses.

    Matt is dedicated to helping others reach their goals. In addition to his responsibilities with DARS, he also serves on the board of directors for the New River Valley Disability Resources Center in Radford.

    Dedra Pentecost
    Dedra Pentecost is the DARs Career Assessment Counselor for the Roanoke and Martinsville areas.  A graduate of Radford University with Bachelors, Masters and a Educational Specialist degree in school psychology, she worked in the public schools before coming to DARS in 1992, first as a psychologist and then as a vocational evaluator.   Her specialty is assessment of clients to identify their  career interests and abilities.   She lives in Hollins with her husband.  They are active in masonic activities including the Eastern Star and Kazim Shrine.
