    Workplace ethics refers to principles and standards that guide behavior in the workplace, ensuring fairness, respect, and integrity. Building an ethical workplace culture establishes a positive work environment, fosters trust among employees, and enhances organizational reputation. During this presentation, attendees will:

    • Examine the current state of workplace ethics
    • Discuss why Good Ethics are Good for Business
    • Examine the Elements of an Ethical Workplace Culture
    • Share HR Strategies for Building an Ethical Workplace Culture, and The Importance of Ethical Practice as an HR Competency

     

    About the Speaker:

    Monique Akanbi, SHRM-CP, Members & Community Director

    Monique Akanbi, SHRM-CP, is the Director of Membership Initiatives with SHRM. As a strategic change agent, with over 15 years of broad-based experience in senior leadership and all aspects of HR in both, the public and private sectors, Monique has been credited with decreasing employee turnover, increasing employee engagement & satisfaction, and improving organizational culture. Monique is also a Master Examiner and Mentor with the Sterling Council Board of Examiners, visiting organizations throughout Florida and Georgia across all industries to assess their leadership system and organizational performance through the National Malcolm Baldrige Performance Excellence model.

    Prior to joining SHRM, Monique was a SHRM volunteer leader within her local Chapter and State Council serving in various roles including Chapter President and District Director with HR Florida. In addition, she serves on various local non-profit boards. As a high energy, creative thinker, team builder, and problem-solver, Monique has a passion for service and assisting others in their purpose, potential, and professional development through meaningful connections.
