Overview:
You would expect that if you found a team where the leader was playing favorites, changing the rules, had lost control, and was even selling the team out that there would be low engagement. However, in these times where bonuses are unlikely, budgets are cut, and competition is tough – these are just the twisted things that will create fierce engagement among your team.
In this engaging workshop, Scott Thompson will lead a discussion about how when times are tough that it presents an opportunity to explore ways of creating engagement and retention in your team that we may not have even considered in the past. You will walk away with 5 key strategies that can help HR be a hero by making real change instead of being in a position of selling a situation to the team that may not be in their best interest. Scott has been in Organizational Development for 17 years and will use stories from his experience with successful fortune 500 companies, a bankrupt airline, world nonprofit leaders, and from his international consulting work. Scott is a Structural Consultant and is a Ph.D. candidate studying complexity in organizations. He lives in Roanoke, VA with his wife and three children where he is the Managing Consultant of Acceleration Point, leads the Training & Development Strategy for Advance Auto Parts, and is an adjunct professor of business.
