    Speaker's Biography

    Ms. Michele Marie Wells is originally from Upstate New York.  She graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Oswego off of Lake Ontario.  There she studied Medicine and Psychology.  Shortly after that Ms. Wells attended Syracuse University and graduated with her Master’s Degree in Counseling with a specialization in Vocational Rehabilitation.  She earned a certification in Rehabilitation Counseling.  During her studies, Ms. Wells was actively involved in working with students with disabilities in educational training programs at the University of Rochester.  These programs had Business Advisory committees.  After graduation in 2000, Ms. Wells was recruited by the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Department of Rehabilitative Services.  Michele joined a team of professionals that work directly with people with disabilities in efforts to develop and secure gainful employment.  Since that time working as a counselor, Ms. Wells moved up to Lead Counselor, to Acting Manager to now a Unit Manager for what is now called the Division of Rehabilitative Services for the Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services.  Michele manages three offices that cover 14 counties; offices are located in Martinsville, Roanoke and Christiansburg.  Her team serves and assists the citizens of the Commonwealth who have all ranges of disabilities and complications towards one goal to be employed.  Ms. Wells currently sits on the Area III Workforce Board in Roanoke.  Michele has 5 children, all Jack Russell Terriers.  The breed suits the person J 

    Cancellation Policy:  Refunds will not be granted if cancellation is not received at least 24 hours in advance. Send all cancellation notices via e-mail to Substitutions are allowed, however the non-member rate may apply.  If we do not receive a cancellation notice more than 24 hours before the event, you will be required to pay for this event, even if you are unable to attend.
