    Kerry N. Smith, CEBS, SPHR, SHRM-SCP

    TOPIC:  SHRM Certifications


    Kerry Smith is a Vice President for Wells Fargo Insurance Services specializing in health and welfare consulting for mid to large size clients. Over the past 20 years, she has worked with many public, private and governmental employers on various tasks as competitive marketing and analysis, renewal analysis, funding options and levels, cost analysis, strategic planning, program design, ancillary products, wellness programs, voluntary benefits, executive benefits and compensation. 

    Prior to joining Wells Fargo in 2006, Kerry was in a producer role for one of the top international employee benefit consulting firms, working with many, publicly traded, Fortune 500 employers.  She also worked as an Account Executive for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, maintaining and developing client relationships. 

    Kerry received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from St. Andrews College and attended graduate school at VCU.  She earned her Certified Health Consultant degree in 2001, her Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) from the International Foundation and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and her Senior Professional in Human Resources both in 2007.  Most recently she is one of the first to achieve her SHRM-SCP designation.  Kerry is the Past President for Richmond Human Resource Management Association (RHRMA) and a past board member of Virginia Healthcare Human Resource Management Association (VaSHHRA). She currently is the Virginia State SHRM Certification Director.



    Monthly Meetings are generally held the fourth Tuesday of the month.  We have both breakfast and lunch meetings during the year.  Please click on the specific meeting you are interested in for meeting times and location.

    Registration for Monthly Meetings will close at noon the day before the meeting.  Due to the costs involved with securing adequate meeting space and meals, refunds will not be granted if cancellation is not received at least 24 hours in advance. Send all cancellation notices via e-mail to Substitutions are allowed, however the non-member rate may apply.  If we do not receive a cancellation notice more than 24 hours before the event, you will be required to pay for the event, even if you are unable to attend.

    Members and guests who are unable to register in advance are invited to attend as a walk in and pay onsite.  We usually have a few extra seats to accommodate onsite registrations, but seating is not guaranteed and preregistration is encouraged.
