There are many impending areas of change that face HR Professionals in the very near future.  As we prepare, Lindsey will offer insight and have an interactive Q&A process following the presentation. 

This is an excellent chance to participate and network with others who are experiencing the same challenges.  This program is approved for HRCI general credit of 1.0 hour and is approved for SHRM-CP credit under the competencies Business Acumen: Risk Management, U.S. Employment Law & Regulations.

• Attendees will learn the most common mistakes that are seen while reviewing employee handbooks and how to ensure that your company policies do not run afoul of any laws, particularly in light of the recent decisions by the National Labor Relations Board.
• Discuss proposed changes to the regulations governing which employees qualify for an exemption from the overtime requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and how to proactively prepare your company for the anticipated changes.
• Attendees will also learn about other recent legal updates regarding pregnancy discrimination, accommodating individuals with disabilities under the Americans With Disabilities Act, as amended, and new requirements for government contractors.

Monthly Meetings are generally held the fourth Tuesday of the month.  We have both breakfast and lunch meetings during the year.  Please click on the specific meeting you are interested in for meeting times and location.

Registration for Monthly Meetings will close at noon the day before the meeting.  Due to the costs involved with securing adequate meeting space and meals, refunds will not be granted if cancellation is not received at least 24 hours in advance. Send all cancellation notices via e-mail to rkevalshrm@gmail.com. Substitutions are allowed, however the non-member rate may apply.  If we do not receive a cancellation notice more than 24 hours before the event, you will be required to pay for the event, even if you are unable to attend.

Members and guests who are unable to register in advance are invited to attend as a walk in and pay onsite.  We usually have a few extra seats to accommodate onsite registrations, but seating is not guaranteed and preregistration is encouraged.
