May 22, 2018, Roanoke Valley SHRM Chapter is proud to present Jeff Smith of Voltage Leadership. Jeff will offer the following ½ day workshop:
MOVING FROM HR EXPERT TO STRATEGIC FACILITATOR: This fast-paced and experiential conversation will focus on the role of the HR Leader in these chaotic, ever-changing times. The presentation will offer ideas and tips on how to move from being an expert to leading the right conversations in your organization. The participants will also gain ideas on improving their own leadership and understand what competencies, skills, experience and attitudes the C-Suite want from their HR partners. Participants will get the chance to identify their current mindset and chart a path for where they would like to grow as a leader.
Location and Time: Hotel Roanoke, 7:30am-11:30am
Breakfast is served at 7:30am
Meeting will begin at 8:00am.

ABOUT OUR SPEAKER…
Jeff Smith is passionate about growing leaders and helping people maximize their best talents. This passion was why Jeff started Voltage Leadership Consulting, and that is why he has influenced countless leaders.
Jeff has served as an executive coach since 2001. He draws from over 20 years of experience working as an executive in human resources and operations roles for both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. He uses a collaborative approach with his clients to help them determine their vision and then identify a plan to help them achieve their vision for their professional and personal lives. His areas of expertise in HR include: organizational development, organizational change, succession planning, executive coaching, team-building, leadership development, and recruiting.
Jeff graduated cum laude with a BBA from James Madison University (Go Dukes) in management and history. He also holds a MA from George Washington University in Human Resource Development. Additionally, Jeff graduated from Georgetown University with an Executive Coaching and Leadership Certificate and became a Fellow of the Advisory Board in 2006. He earned his Professional Coach Certification through the International Coaching Federation.
Jeff is devoted to his wife Beth and their 4 children. In his spare time, Jeff follows JMU Sports, the Atlanta Braves, and trains for and runs in marathons.
Monthly Meetings are generally held the fourth Tuesday of the month. We have both breakfast and lunch meetings during the year. Please click on the specific meeting you are interested in for meeting times and location.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
Registration for Monthly Meetings will close at noon the day before the meeting. Due to the costs involved with securing adequate meeting space and meals, refunds will not be granted if cancellation is not received at least 24 hours in advance. Send all cancellation notices via e-mail to rkevalshrm@gmail.com. Substitutions are allowed, however the non-member rate may apply. If we do not receive a cancellation notice more than 24 hours before the event, you will be required to pay for the event, even if you are unable to attend.
Members and guests who are unable to register in advance are invited to attend as a walk in and pay onsite. We usually have a few extra seats to accommodate onsite registrations, but seating is not guaranteed and preregistration is encouraged.
