PROGRAM:
In this session, CAPTRUST Vice President and Financial Advisor Heather Darcy will cover the basics of being a fiduciary for a company’s retirement plan, as well as some best practices to consider when serving in that role. Specifically, Darcy will discuss the importance of fiduciary education, Investment Policy Statements, understanding liabilities, as well as document retention and required distribution responsibilities.

Heather Darcy, CPFA

Heather joined CAPTRUST in 2015 as a vice president and financial advisor. She is responsible for providing investment and fiduciary advisory services to retirement plan sponsors of defined benefit, defined contribution, and nonqualified retirement plans, as well as endowments and foundations. Heather is a Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA) and has been named to the National Association of Plan Advisors’ list of Top Women Advisors for six consecutive years (2016-2021). She has worked in the industry since 2004 and helps clients manage their plans more effectively with independent advice on investments, plan design, participant engagement, vendor management, and fiduciary process.
