Business Advocacy Breakfast III: Marijuana, the Workplace & Virginia Law
Presented by: Todd Leeson, partner with Gentry Locke Attorneys
Sponsored by: Salem-Roanoke County Chamber of Commerce
As you know, it is now lawful in Virginia to use/smoke marijuana (Cannabis). What does this mean for Virginia employers? Please join us on June 28 for our next Business Advisory breakfast presented by Todd Leeson, chair of Gentry Locke’s employment law group. Todd will provide answers to the legal questions he is hearing from businesses in our region. As examples, we will discuss whether employers should modify their drug-testing protocols or policies. Todd will also educate businesses as to how to handle circumstances in which an employee seeks the right to use marijuana for purported medical reasons (i.e., medical marijuana prescription). Todd will also provide practical advice to employers on this evolving topic. Please join us for this important update.
