SPEAKERS:
Harrison Richards is a member of the firm’s Employment & Labor group where he regularly handles a wide variety of employment disputes and litigation. Prior to joining Gentry Locke, Harrison worked in Washington D.C. at a boutique litigation firm. He has experience in state and federal courts as well as with arbitrations and administrative evidentiary hearings. Harrison earned his J.D. from The Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law and received his B.A. from Roanoke College. He is a native of Roanoke, Virginia and is licensed in Virginia as well as Washington D.C.
Michael P. Gardner, Principal, is a member of Woods Rogers Vandeventer Black’s Labor & Employment and Litigation practice groups. He focuses his practice almost exclusively on labor and employment issues and has represented clients large and small, public and private, in state and federal courts in the Mid-Atlantic and beyond. Mike has counseled employers on handling all aspects of employment claims, from internal management, proceedings with state and federal agencies such as the EEOC or DOL, and through litigation, trial and appeal. While litigation is sometimes unavoidable, Mike emphasizes a proactive and preventative approach to employment issues in an effort to minimize the costs and disruptions litigation can impose on a business. Mike is regularly asked to speak on employment issues to professional associations, corporate trainings, and at WRVB’s annual Labor & Employment seminars.
