    In a Forrester Consulting commissioned by Workday in August, 2023, they found that 70% of people leaders believe AI will be crucial for success in HR in the next five years, but only 34% of employees said they have a good understanding of AI and how it can be used in the workplace. In addition, despite data privacy, bias and ethical concerns, AI is being deployed at a rapid pace, with 52% of HR leaders participating in a June 2023, Gartner benchmarking session indicating that they were exploring potential use cases and opportunities when it came to generative AI.

    Moving from Conflict to Collaboration (1.5 hours)

    Moving from Conflict to Collaboration is a highly interactive and thought-provoking workshop which challenges common perceptions of conflict and teaches the participants how to respond to conflict with strength, clarity, and compassion as opposed to reacting to it with fear, avoidance, or aggression. This workshop introduces the participants to four principles of conflict transformation and presents practical tools for integrating these principles into practice. As part of this workshop the participants will also learn how to use mindfulness, active listening, curiosity, and engagement with complexity and nuance to shift difficult interactions into opportunities for growth, connection, and dialogue.

    About Henry:

    Henry Yampolsky, J.D. is a best-selling author of Dis-Solving Conflict from Within: An Inner Path for Conflict Transformation. He is a mediator, educator, lawyer, and a multi-time TEDx speaker. Henry serves as the Assistant Director for Education, Outreach, and Conflict Resolution with Virginia Tech’s Office for Equity and Accessibility. He is also an affiliate faculty with Virginia Tech’s Center for Peace Studies and Violence Prevention where he teaches Conflict Resolution, Mediation, and Peacebuilding.  Henry has taught and lectured around the world including at: Columbia University School of Law, the New York Peace Institute, Bharathiar University in Coimbatore, India, Swiss Mediation Society in Zurich, the International Gandhi Center in New Delhi and at the Sattva Summit in Rishikesh, India. This summer Henry will be on the faculty of Nelson Mandela Washington Fellowship, where he will be teaching conflict resolution to emerging African leaders. Henry is also the recipient of the prestigious Fulbright Professional fellowship. Prior to embarking on a career in peacebuilding and conflict resolution, Henry was an award-winning trial lawyer in Philadelphia, specializing in Civil Rights and Labor and Employment law. He is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Henry has earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Temple University and also has a BS in International Relations from the University of Scranton. Originally from Kyiv, Ukraine, Henry can be found on his motorcycle in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia.
