Presented by: Morgan Romeo, Director of Workforce Development
Our program will discuss the programs and funding available through Virginia Blue Ridge Works for employers and how to partner. A misconception of employers is that it is only for the unemployed but we will discuss what is available for the underemployed, the entry level employees and the resources to help organizations grow their people. Will also review opportunities for entry level workers that need training for more technical roles (ie. Megatronics, leadership/supervisory).
About Our Speaker
Morgan Romeo is the Director of Workforce Development for the Virginia Career Works – Blue Ridge Region, which is the workforce development system for the Roanoke Valley and Alleghany Highlands. Through federal, state, and local funding, the workforce development system provides funding for job training to career seekers in order to create a qualified workforce for the region’s businesses. Morgan received her Bachelors Degree from the University of Virginia, and remained in Charlottesville, VA where she began her career in workforce development. A native of Vinton, VA, she moved back to the Roanoke Valley in 2017 with her husband, Tyler, and son, Lucas.
