Fire Up! Parting Ways in a Positive Way
How do you “quit” employees without destroying their self-confidence, upsetting co-workers, losing customers or tarnishing your employment brand? This presentation provides factors to consider before terminating someone and offers insights on instilling humanity in the firing process. Practical techniques will be shared on how to effectively, and respectfully, work through performance issues, rule violations and reductions in force.
About Our Speaker
Susan Tinder White, SHRM-SCP, SPHR
Susan White has established a reputation for identifying, developing, coaching and retaining talent. Her experience includes 30 plus years as a Senior Vice President & Human Resource Executive at JP Morgan Chase. Currently, Susan consults with executives in a variety of industries, government entities and not-for-profits. Susan earns trust quickly, builds relationships and provides practical and constructive coaching that enables leaders to achieve results.
Susan offers knowledge across business disciplines, insights into team dynamics and experience in problem solving that enhances clients’ leadership effectiveness. She is a SHRM (Society of Human Resource Management) Instructor who teaches HR professionals across the globe, while also working with client companies to solve complex human resource issues and provide executive coaching. Susan is Co-host of the “The JoyPowered® Workspace” Podcast and Co-author of “The JoyPowered® Team.”
Susan is a SHRM-SCP (SHRM Senior Certified Professional) and a SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources.) She earned a B.S. in Business from Indiana University and has completed numerous post-graduate courses. Susan holds SHRM Foundation’s Employing Abilities @Work Certificate. She is a Trustee for Christ the King Parish, a member of National and IndySHRM, a volunteer at Newfields: The Indianapolis Museum of Art, and serves on the United Way Human Services Professional Renewal Committee.
